Questions / Answers
What do we need to buy for my son to play football?
We recommend at the MS and HS that you limit your purchases to cleats, white crew socks, mouth piece and girdle. Everything else we will be providing...helmet, shoulder pads, game / practice jersey / pants and lower pads / belt. Please limit the colors to blue, black or white with cleats and any cold weather under garments or gloves.
Where are the practice fields for middle school and high school?
Everyone practices on our campus. The middle school will practice up on the hill directly behind the tennis courts. Varsity and Junior Varsity are together on the down fields behind the Elementary school.
What time are practices for the rest of the summer and fall?
Middle school will continue to lift / learn plays on Mondays and Wednesdays 5-7PM. August 23, 2021, practice will officially start. Players are expected to get ready immediately after school ends, once the school year begins. Practice is 3:30-6PM. See schedule for game days and times.
High school (Varsity and JV) will continue to lift / learn plays on Tuesdays and Thursdays 5-7PM. August 9, 2021, practice officially start. Players are expected to be in the weight room by 3:00 for 30 minute lift and then get ready to for practice which starts at 3:45-6:30 during the school years. See schedule for game days and times.
Does my son need to show up to lifting, learning plays or practice all the time?
Absolutely YES! Failure to Prepare---Means we are preparing to Fail! As a coaching staff we are setting up off-season training sessions and pre-season sessions to prepare our players mentally, physically and emotionally to successfully compete. Lack of preparation is not good. It puts all players in an unsafe environment and sets our team up for failure. We understand that players get jobs and families vacation, we simply hope that playing safe football can be mixed in the scheduling and thought process. We are flexible!
When can we find out if my son is playing MS or HS / JV or V?
All 9th graders through 12th graders are expected to be in camp (Heat Acc) on August 9th. Our coaching staff will evaluate all players thoroughly to put them in the best situation for his safety, talent and contribution to the program.
How can I help?
Great question....parents are a major part of our Cougar Football Program. Below is an extensive list of ways you can be of help.
Keep your son coming consistently.
Stay positive about the program, coaches, other players and families
Be a parent...not their coach and we promise to do the opposite.
Volunteer at the concession stand, chain gang, pasta nights, tale gate, donations etc...
Try, when possible to schedule doctor, eye, and dental appointments outside of practice times and game days.
Come to the games prepared to be excited, loud, positive and supportive. Help us to give your son a great playing experience.
